When planning math activities and lessons for my class, I love when I find activities that they are excited to do. This free math word search printable is always popular with kids. The love the hunt of finding each of the words and I love the learning that happens as children are introduced to the various math terms.

This word search is not focused on one specific unit. It includes a variety of terms and words from several units. They are words that kids will likely come across many times in their math program.

Free Math Word Search Printable
I have used word searches for years with my students. They always love having them and working to complete them. However, when I started teaching kindergarten word searches were new to my students and very challenging.
When I created this word search I simplified it so that the words are only going down and across. They don’t go diagonally or backwards. This makes it easier for younger children and causes less confusion.
There are lots of times you can use the word search. A few ideas for use are included below:
- Use for early finishers
- Beginning of year (To introduce concepts students will see throughout the year).
- As a classroom center for children to each rotate through and complete.
- Assign as homework
- Brain break activity
Print as many copies as you need for each child to complete. Another option with the word searches is to use them as a center and laminate the page. Once laminated children can use dry erase markers to complete the word search.
